Memopol is a machine hosted in KUMU Art Museum in Tallinn, Estonia that is able to map all the information that is available online about you. By inserting your ID card or passport into the machine, Memopol starts collecting information about the visitor from international databases and the internet. The data is then visualised on a large-scale custom display. The aim of Memopol is to raise awareness about government databases, where citizens' private information (from prescription drugs to high school exams, from tax reports to driving licenses) are all recorded for unlimited time – recalling scenarios described in the masterpiece "1984" by George Orwell.
