MapKnitter

Mapknitter is a project of Public Lab and used by Hagit in our second episode From My Point of View to "stitch" together the images she took of East Jerusalem using DIY aerial photography.

Mapknitter is a free, open source tool for combining and positioning images into a composite image map. The process is known to experts as “orthorectification” or “georectification”. It is often used in combination with MapMill.org, which helps to select the best images to use for your map.

On the homepage there is a short video tutorial describing how to use the tool, and more advanced tutorials and guides are being added all the time.
