Living Under Drones

Living Under Drones is a website centred around a report by Stanford/NYU, based on interviews with drone strike victims in the tribal areas of Pakistan, and looking at their impact on the region. Rather than focusing solely on strike or death counts, the report looks at the broader civilian impact of drone warfare in Pakistan, and the psychological pressure and anxiety for those who live under the threat of strikes, in order to fill a gap in coverage. Another section outlines the legal implications of the US' targeted killing programme, aimed at a non-specialist audience.

The report itself is available to download, or you can read the full interviews with victims, or watch a video documentary charting how the anger caused by drones is fast becoming the new recruiting tool for al-Qaeda.
