The Migrants Files

A database that contains information on 27,000 migrants who died on their way to Europe since 2000.

The Migrants Files is a reporting project and database that contains information on 27,000 migrants who died on their way to Europe since 2000.

The Migrants' Files project was launched in August 2013 by a group of European journalists who joined forces to accurately calculate and report the deaths of emigrants seeking refuge in Europe. By compiling rigorous datasets from various sources, the journalists aimed at creating a comprehensive and reliable database on migrants' deaths. It's now possible to download the complete dataset or navigate through it to explore the most dangerous routes used by the migrants to try to get to Europe.
